Lessons & Assignments Wednesday, October 7th

Language Arts - None - We continued editing student writing samples today.  We also practiced making compound sentences by moving around the room to find task cards, then combining the sentences on each card using a conjunction.  The students did a great job working hard on this activity today!  We listened to our weekly story on the iPads.  We will have our skills test tomorrow.  Students will be making and confirming predictions on the test.  Mrs. Pratt's group read a story about transportation, and my group used our leveled readers to practice fluency self assessments using PhotoBooth.

Math - None - We took our chapter 2 test today.

Science - None - We took our chapter 3 test today.

Social Studies - None - We read about immigration today.  We learned about immigration to the United States during the late 1800's and early 1900's.  We discussed the importance of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.  We also took a virtual field trip of Ellis Island.
